Aaron Liao is one of NYC's most versatile young bassists. Establishing his name with artists such as Thirdstory, Emily Elbert, Michael Blume, as well as his band, the alternative experimental pop band Iris Lune, Aaron's talents on electric, synth, and upright bass continue to shine alongside top artists across all genres.
For two consecutive years, Grammy award winning drummer and artist Terri Lyne Carrington appointed Aaron as musical director for the headlining acts at Beantown Jazz Festival in Boston: In 2013 with Meshell Ndegeocello, and in 2014 with Sheila E. He recorded Norwegian artist Siv Jakobsen's debut EP in 2013 and toured with her in Europe that year. In 2014, young rising trumpet/composer Josh Shpak featured Aaron's upright, electric, and Moog-bass playing on his debut release, "Astatic", received rave reviews from critics.
Iris Lune's second record is set for release in early 2017.
